Dr. Kaback's comments are well taken and we agree that a war philosophy on our part, "in the usual sense" will not end the threat. The "enlightenment," and the individual liberty and freedom on which it is based and which we hold dear, has never really taken hold in most of the Islamic world. Until it does (if ever) America should leave no stone unturned in its primary mission of protecting Americans by isolating or destroying those fanatics whose mission in life is to destroy us.

Gentlemen, With a world population of 1.5 billion Moslems, and with what is estimated (conservatively) to be a radical fundamentalist fraction of that number of one to two percent, OR 15 TO 30 MILLION RADICALS!!, we have quite a problem to deal with. Incidentally, their demographics alone will be an ever increasing problem, both in numbers and in geography, and our actions may serve to increase that radical (jihadist) fraction over time.
"Root them out and destroy them", enhance our worldwide surveillance, constant vigilance, all of the above. Until the so-called " peace loving" majority of Moslem leadership and their constituents step up and stop the radical jihadists themselves from within, I see no end to this "war". This is a "war" of philosophy and there are those, in the radical Moslem world, who believe that time is their greatest ally. They grow while we diminish, their numbers (radicals) are clearly growing in spite of, if not because of, all efforts of the West to date. Their martyrdom philosophy is a great weapon in the vast numbers of schools where radical Q'oran is taught. I am not sure that a "war" philosophy on our part, in the ususal sense, will help us to prevail. How do we get Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.etc.etc. to take the lead in destroying this PHILOSOPHY? That may be the major tool if this "war" is ever to be won....
